A Green New Deal for Cambridge & South Cambs

A Green New Deal for Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire

As a society we are facing multiple, linked crises, and more and more of us are struggling from day to day just to get by. The Green Party of England and Wales has a vision for a Green Recovery which will tackle the climate and ecological emergency while building a society that works for everyone. To achieve this we need more Green voices in Parliament, fighting for policies such as an unconditional Universal Basic Income and renationalisation of the energy companies. In the meantime, there is much to be done at the local authority level.

Green politics is about fair, green solutions that make life better. Visit the pages under the headings below to see our vision for Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire under a Green-led Council, and to read consultation responses and other relevant policy documents under each section.

A graphic with 7 green circles. The central circle has the text 'fair green solutions to make life better'. 6 circles are arranged around it like the petals of a flower and have the text 'thriving communities not top-down growth', 'comfortable, energy-efficient buildings', 'caring for our rivers and streams and safeguarding water supplies', 'protecting nature and green spaces for everyone', 'real action on the climate emergency', 'a green transport revolution'.
