26 November 2018

We are delighted to announce that Jeremy Caddick was unanimously elected to represent the Cambridge Green Party as Parliamentary Candidate. With the United Kingdom being in a state of political uncertainty and the prospect of a snap general election or vote of no confidence being increasingly likely, local parties are being urged to select their candidates and be prepared for all eventualities.

Jeremy Caddick is a long-term Cambridge resident and local campaigner. His two children went to local schools and Jeremy was a parent governor for Parkside Federation. He has stood as the Green Party candidate for Market ward in local elections.

As Dean of Emmanuel College, Jeremy has campaigned vigorously for civil rights within the Church of England and was the first reverend to support the blessing of same-sex couples. He has also been a member of the University Council.

An experienced public speaker and confident in interviews, Jeremy is bringing a wide range of skills and experience to the role. His current priorities as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate are

  • Putting climate change at the top of the agenda
  • Taking back local control from the broken Westminster system
  • Backing a People’s Vote on the terms of Brexit.

The Cambridge Green Party is ready to fight a general election and offers a positive and radical vision for a brighter future.
